Ask about the first week. The records that decide truck claims — driver logs kept only six months, footage overwritten in weeks — reward firms that move immediately. It's a fair question to ask any firm what its first-week preservation list looks like and when its preservation request goes out.
Ask how they find every policy. The driver, carrier, trailer owner, shipper, and maintenance contractor may each have an insurer, and your own UM/UIM coverage may apply. A complete claim identifies all of it early; ask whether that's a standard step.
Ask about the federal layer. Truck claims run on federal safety rules — hours-of-service limits, record retention, minimum insurance. Comfort with that layer is part of the job.
Ask about communication and the fee. Who your point of contact will be, how often you'll hear from them, and what the written fee agreement says — the percentage, how case costs are handled, whether anything changes if the case goes further. Any firm should be glad to put those answers in writing.
City-specific guides. We've written how-to-choose guides for the cities where these claims most often arise: Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Scottsdale, Gilbert, Chandler, and Tucson — each covers the local corridors and the questions that matter most there.
"Best" is a conclusion each person reaches for themselves — the checks above are how to reach it on facts.
